This three-piece set focuses on exhibition design in motion and communicating the brand of the chosen exhibition. The exhibition is CUT! Paper Play in Contemporary Photography from the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, California. CUT! features the work of six contemporary photographers whose interaction with paper is an integral part of their practice. These six artists create paper models with images from various sources. The models are then disassembled or destroyed, though individual elements are incorporated into other works.
To create a full exhibition brand experience, three motion pieces were created: an outdoor ad, entryway introduction, and exhibition interactive. All three pieces communicate the idea of collaging, layering, assembling, cutting and slicing utilizing originally made and scanned paper materials and textures. Typographically, italics are prominent to emphasize the directional changes. The typographic placement is reflective of the chaotic, calculated approach of these artists. The color palette speaks to the desaturated colors of the works itself and the vibe of a chic, contemporary Los Angeles audience.
